Dialogue is wonderful: it brings scenes alive, it adds intimacy, it develops characters rapidly.
But, it’s tricky. If it’s real then it’s likely to be dull as much real dialogue is filler. If it’s too raw then it’ll not be believable.
Trying reading it aloud: the ears are marvellous at discerning and adding authenticity.
