Tough Times remain. How do we cope? We make extra effort as with that extra effort we will get the interview or win the business or grab the internship. But what is 'extra effort'? There is the one most of us were brought up with and got re-inforced many a time over when there was a crisis: to work longer hours. It's an OK approach: it can work one or two times. But if it becomes the norm we lose our greatest asset for tough times: creativity and the ability to work out how to solve this challenge. So there is an alternative view on 'extra effort' and that is to work shorter hours: to do less and achieve more. But of course they are not just any old shorter hours. They are shorter hours with: a clear objective, no distractions, a distinct bias for actions, a clear facilitation of diversity of view, steady pace and building momentum.
Do (the right kind of) less to achieve more.
