Some novels you’ll love. Some you will detest. What makes the difference/s?

Of course the genre, of course the characters. But importantly does it have soul? Journalists, students and writers are tempted by devices such as ChatGPT. It will be brilliant and for much it is invaluable. But for the moment it has no soul.
