As the food supply chain ever shortens our bodies become ever mis-matched to what is delivered. When we killed, skinned and prepared our own we were of necessity lean and mean. When we open the door to Uber Eats....

Mountains. Serious, solid and sanguine. Epoch-spanning, enormous, energising. Eagles. Drifting. To walk, to run in the Pyrenees is to be reminded that this is planet earth. The best there is. Perfect in every way and only disturbed by the dark side of the human mind. But curiously in fresh air, in the perspective of the grand view such a side seems rare. It is a shock when a crime occurs on a Scottish island. Yet in the urban jungle: it’s just another day.

Does this tell us anything? Maybe we need more fresh air, more longer views. More eagle watching.
