All presentations need a timeline. If it is a session you give frequently and/or are very familiar, the timeline can be shortened. If it is brand-new and/or not 'delivered' for some time, then the time-line needs to be extended, maybe a week or so. The critical element to the time-line is to include three rehearsals, in order: (1) for words and timing (2) for flow and energy (3) for minimum dependence upon notes. To neglect these is cause you stress and not respect your audience who seek your wisdom be it on health and safety or leadership.
