1. Do the basic basics, of course.
2. Re-read some of your favourite writers. Step back from the content and notice the form.
3. Improve the mechanics of your craft. Do a little grammar each day. From who? Or From whom?
4. Find an on-line vocabulary builder. Learn a new word or two every Saturday. Brachiate more.
5. Edit your work regularly and with discipline to hone the meaning and/or the plot development.
6. Attempt to write 250 words in the style of a favourite author.
7. Step back, take a week away from the keyboard and then immerse yourself in what a writer does: writing.
