- Do the basic basics, of course.
- Re-read some of your favourite writers. Step back from the content and notice the form.
- Improve the mechanics of your craft. Do a little grammar each day. From who? Or From whom?
- Find an on-line vocabulary builder. Learn a new word or two every Saturday. Brachiate more.
- Edit your work regularly and with discipline to hone the meaning and/or the plot development.
- Attempt to write 250 words in the style of a favourite author.
- Step back, take a week away from the keyboard and then immerse yourself in what a writer does: writing.
