I Saw Her Standing There. Straight-to-the-listener lyrics: 'went boom'; 'crossed that room'. No allusions or 'soft' stuff. As always with much of their early material, this could be played for 10-15 minutes in live performance in the early days when they had to have sufficient material for hours on end, but was parred down to a powerful rocker for the radio. And just perfect for an early Saturday as you do the laundry.
Although a very early Lennon-McCartney production, notice the = rapid evolution of material, powerful succinct story-telling and totally engaging sound. The Beatles are well on the way. Lift-off has been achieved.
