- Pause: is it really the job you don't like or...?
- And if it really is, then decide what you want in your new job
- not just what you don't want.
- Be careful of attractive salaries. Doing something you don't like for a great salary is short-term thinking.
- Do something you do like (maybe at a lower salary). Because you like it, become awesome at it. Because you are awesome, earn well.
- Focus on quality (ensure a perfect CV and a customised covering letter every time) and quantity (so many of your applications will be ignored for no good reason at all).
- Remember your application is likely to be read by your recruiter on a phone while standing in a queue at Starbucks. Test it under those conditions and make sure it does you proud.
