Paul lit a cigarette: whether it was the last of the night or the first of the day, he wasn't sure. He was tired as he leaned against the window frame but not exhausted: he looked out across the roof-tops of London and could just hear the first faint strains of Sgt. Pepper starting to play. It was out; the lads were really pleased with the tracks, although it was a shame George Martin wouldn't include Penny Lane nor Strawberry Fields. The actual cover was incredible. Whatever happened now, no other band would ever touch them. They were absolutely, definitely no-doubt-about-it: toppermost of the poppermost.
