TotallyTotallyGlobal offices were as you’d expect: very smart, very expensive and not really fit for purpose. Thus there was a vast empty ‘atrium’ entrance but behind the scenes, sales people were desperately ‘hot-desking’, there being a shortage of simple desk space. He decided to head north: within a couple of blocks things changed quickly.
A quick glug of water as the temperature was rising, hat adjusted as he pressed hard and rode hard: his was a fixie. He loved the simplicity of its design and the ease of maintenance. Initially, road after road of large corporations but then all of a sudden, emptiness and derelict buildings. This had been the area of potential and no doubt would again at some time but for the moment expansion had stalled. But it was just 10 minutes bike ride, a walk, a short car ride from HQ. This had potential. He started weaving in and out of blocks of land. Many were too big and sprawling. He really wanted something self-contained. He wanted light. He wanted a bit of space around them. He wanted seclusion. He wanted privacy. Many did not even have details of how to rent. He pulled up: another glug of water and he took his helmet off and cleared some perspiration. Out of his bag he pulled his sunglasses and once on scanned up and down. He took bite of his Huel bar. Nothing obvious….
