- You have to break the cycle somewhere, of being too stressed to handle the stress.
- The easiest one is the walk. Just walk. No aim, no analysis. Just seek the grounding rhythm of the walk.
- Make it a regular, recurring feature of your day. It will soothe. It will put things in proportion.
- Now identify every damn stressor. Every one. From the commute, to your boss, to the leaking roof, to...
- Much stress is being out of control.
- Split the list into two: what you can control (your boss) and what you can't (still not winning the lotto).
- Accept those you can't control: waste no more emotional energy on them.
- Prioritise those you can control. Number 1 being the one which would reduce most stress if solved.
- Take one per week and solve it by asking for help, learning a skill, being persistent.....
- Keep walking, keep staying grounded.
- But solve it, one by one.
- Now. Feeling better? Keep walking, keep breathing properly, keep looking up.
