Being the Best was my first book. First to be written, first to be published. Now a decade old and also in digital format it's still one of my favourites. It originated from a conclusion I had created to a 3-day programme I ran at the time; there were a lot of ideas, a lot of concepts and I wanted something to help those attending the course remember it all. The A to Z of Excellence was born: 26 concepts distilled down from the three days. Plus the idea of visting one a day during the calendar month.
It worked: the A to Z of Excellence was popular and was often chose as a short conference topic. I decide to pitch the idea of a book (if you are currently working on yours, this may be helpful) and e v e n t u a l l y got a publisher. One very useful piece of feedback (which has stuck with me) for that work was 'more stories of real people'; I wrote 26 mini case studies which helped the book come alive and I know is a popular feature.
The great thing about that book is I wouldn't change a thing in it now.
