The gang kicked a ball around; there was an air of melancholy. Sure it was Saturday but after the holiday Monday it was back to school. Where had that long summer holiday gone? They’d had adventures, there’d been a romance or two (none had lasted of course). They’d run close to the law a couple of times but dad had always said as long as you are the right side, it’s part of growing up: wild swimming had been very cool. They kicked the ball around and William looked forward to a time where there was no back to school.
