- Check every assumption. Does a restaurant need a variety of different choices every night? How about if it just had one choice but that was different each night. And it was a surprise.
- Find a tool which batters your thinking. De Bono's 6 hats is a great place to start.
- Treat the product/solution as if it were clay. If it were bigger? Smaller? Longer? Shorter? In Colour? In smaller bits?
- What is sacrosanct? Now challenge that. "We sell direct". But what if we sold though an intermediary?
- Get some space, get some time and foget the problem for a while. Let the brain work on it in background. The brain can solve anything but it doesn't always like PRESSURE!!
- Get a random stimulus. Open a book at random. Select a random track on your iPod. Ask a friend for an idea.
- Believe that you are creative. You are. We all are. We just all work very hard to stop ourselves being so.
