- Choose up-lifting music for your listening not the 'economy is bad' news.
- Meet your colleagues in a convenient coffee shop en route. Practise possible tricky questions, objections and negotiation stances.
- As you pull up in the clients car park you are now of course 100% on show. Be friendly to security even though they don't have your name, park courteously and straighten that tie. Of course you have a tie.
- In reception talk in a business like manner. It's less about who might be listening and more about getting you in the frame of mind for the pitch.
- Say no to extra coffee. But get into the room ASAP and ensure good sight-lines and minimum barriers to rapport.
- Be warm, welcoming and engaging as people arrive. Avoid 'us and them' seating and conversations.
- Now the actual pitch is easy.
