- Watch/listen less news. Because 98% of the time it isn't. Saved: at least 6 minutes/day.
- Batch similar activities e.g. clear e-mail and then forget it for a while. Dipping in and out of different activities breaks flow and wastes time. Saved: at least 6 minutes/day.
- Plan the next day before finishing work. Next day: work the plan. Yes, there will be disruptions but the clear and present focus should save at least 10 minutes/day.
- Shorten all meetings to 45 minutes. Time saved: at least 15 minutes/day.
- Shop on line for commodity food e.g. cereals, baked beans, cooking oil. Time saved in shops, car parks and traffic: at least 6 minutes/day.
- Get up on first alarm. Knowingly dis-able snooze on your phone alarm. Time saved: at least 6 minutes/day.
- Break fully and knowingly at lunch time; take the stairs rather than lift; have no sugar in the PM. All to help a higher rate of working in the afternoon. Time gained: at least 15 minutes/PM.
Cautious estimate time saved/day, Monday thru Friday: 60 mins. Adds up to half-a-day/working week. Now decide to double that!
