Ask. Some will say no. Some will intimidate. Some will say not now. But, ask anyway. With the right person at the right time it's the fast-track way to learn, to get to the heart of their expertise. Ask those who are good, really good. Ask: how do they do what they do, exactly? Sure they prepare their pitches, but what in particular do they do that many of us don't do. Because they are winning 99% of their pitches. People who are good at things have a strategy. Funnily enough they may not know their own strategy. But observe them, ask them, thank them (and return the favour sometime).
If you want to be a successful barista, cyclist, writer, salesperson, CEO, you need that strategy.
Ask until you know.
