He drove quietly down the street in order to not disturb his neighbours. His headlights met the eyes of a fox crossing the road; they both paused. As he picked up speed, he turned on the radio and the babble of the DJ comforted. With his eyes on the road ahead he reviewed in his mind how he would break the news of his resignation to his manager. It would be painful but he had things to do and being a supervisor on the all-night shift at a call-center was not on the list. He felt incredibly determined. And liberated.
