| In A Nutshell... »
- At the end of the day, plan tomorrow.
- Travel light. Regularly empty out the bags and wallet of the accumulated debris.
- Write down their names. Nobody minds at all.
- Look for the best.
- Plan 'down' time as specifically as 'work' time.
- Double-check which terminal it is before you leave for the airport.
- Make your health central to your life: think, live, breath, eat and drink wellness.
- Do not be afraid to ask for help.
- Get enough sleep.
- Create and use check-lists.
- Realise there is no perfect job but there is a perfect approach to any job: find the intrinsic worth in all you do. Chop wood, carry water.
- Remember who your friends are.
- Offer help and notice the Earth spin more easily.
- Never, ever complain again.
- Alternate all drinks at the office with a couple of glugs of simple, no nonsense water.
- Start the meeting knowing the action you wish to achieve.
- Practise until you get really good.
- Converse, chat and 'hang out' more.
- Never say 'I don't have time'.
- Use the camera on your phone to photograph stuff e.g. the timetable you need to remember.
- Write every day. Rain or shine.
- Sort your washes: coloureds, whites, low temp.
- Build your spreadsheet assuming it will actually be really, really tough in the next 6 months.
- Use a pencil when writing in your diary.
- Switch off e-mail while working.
- Consider that there are many kinds of love. All are fun. But they are very different.
- Buy decent coffee.
- Simplify everything.
- Notice the small, the medium and the large of life.
- The famous names of a nation or company are not the nation nor the firm.
- Never send a reply to an e-mail immediately. Let it brew. Then send it.
- Listen.
- Reflect that so much great work was once done without e-mail nor PowerPoint nor even Face book.
- Take walks more often.
- Cook twice the amount and freeze the rest for another day.
- File it.
- Do airline travel with a fantastic novel. Delays, shuffles and security become a breeze.
- Get a good accountant.
- Be able to change scale: from strategy to tactics. From country to globe.
- Ask what is reality, here? For relationships, for business, for the first novel expectations.
- Write it down.
- Remember that it's simply a point of view which could augment your current different perspective.
- Do one thing at a time.
- Make your own super healthy soups.
- Have a master list: one definitive list of all you want to do and have to do.
- Sit and think.
- Remember the staggering enormity of it all. A planet with life. A lonely solar system. One mind-boggling universe.
- Decide to make life easier. As it is.
- Turn your decisions into actions.
- Immediately.
