PowerPoint. A bizarre language which consists of a mixture of bullets and pictures of mountains. Its benefit is that it can be used to communicate with an audience without any engagement necessarily required from either the presenter nor the audience. The ritual of 'may I have a copy of the slide-deck' delays the on-set of realisation that nothing made sense. PowerPoint lacks the normal constructs of any language such as conjunctions, supporting clauses and breathing unless these are put on the slide in which case it becomes a sing-along as everyone reads together or the presenter knows what they are talking about. Quite. This modest bit of software along with e-mail (q.v.) and the SmartFone (q.v.) is doing very well thank you in bringing organisations (q.v.) to their knees.
