A Meeting is a collection of individuals who have gathered in a room or around a conference-call screen as that is what people do in organisations (q.v. here). Only very rarely will the meeting have purpose and/or generate clear outcomes. Meetings are useful in that otherwise many employees would not be clear how to fill their time nor would hit their doughnut/donut quota. Rituals which occur in meetings include the sharing of PowerPoint (q.v.) slide-decks, the distracting and impolite use of e-mail (q.v.) and discussion of the quality of Starbucks (q.v.) drinks.
