- Business can be reduced to a replicable model. No it can't: there are trends, patterns and clues which are well worth considering but they can rarely be summarised on one PPT slide. Absolutely worth studying, but don't expect it to be easy.
- What caused differentiation for one organisation will work for another. No it won't. Difference is a one-off. You have to find your own difference. How they found or created their difference is worth studying, though.
- You can ignore people in your equations. Er..only at your peril.
- There is time to create a plan. No. The plan was needed yesterday: you need to create it on the fly at speed, accurately. Like, now.
- There is sufficient data to to decide. To blog or not to blog? There is no data. Do it and discover.
- A deep vertical approach is better than a wide approach. No. The Renaissance Man is back in a world of deep turbulence.
- A 1h lecture is enough to grasp a subject. Ha ha.
