There was an 'Old World of Work' where it was often very difficult to be efficient. If you caught a train, you would be out of touch-possibly for hours. Nobody could e-mail or text you or ring you. If you were on the road, well you'd stop at a diner, grab some coffee and use their pay-phone.
In the 'New World of Work' it is possible to be totally 'micro-scheduled' and very efficient and not waste a moment. But. But. Efficient isn't always effective. Sometimes it's good to allow the brain to roam without interruption. Sometimes it's amazing to have a non-interrupted conversation. Sometime it's cool to go to the airport without immediately playing hunt the power socket.
