- The great thing,
- the really great thing is:
- anytime;
- anyplace;
- anywhere;
- (no-not Martini-)
- here;
- there
- and everywhere;
- you
- -that’s you personally-
- can re-invent.
- Yep, let go of the baggage:
- just drop it:
- bump.
- And walk off.
- Last quarter’s tough trading:
- history;
- last year’s odd-ball relationship:
- history;
- last month’s redundancy:
- history;
- this lunch-time’s traffic jam:
- history;
- last week’s flu:
- history;
- yesterday’s shock mini-statement at the ATM:
- pathetic history; who needs money, anyway?
- Let it go:
- let it all go:
- whheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Gone.
- History.
- Just like that.
- Yep, just like that.
- No ifs, buts, questions.
- Clean sweep;
- totally radical;
- done and dusted:
- no more Mr. Nice Guy. Reinvent.
- Walk off: into the sun-set,
- just like in the movies.
- But for real;
- and no hail of bullets
- nor weeping dames.
- And start afresh: around the back. On another film-set.
- Life’s a film-set:
- write your own story-board because the one you were given is only OK.
- Stuff the banks;
- stuff the politicians.
- Raise your standards:
- not OK;
- not good (that’s not good enough any more);
- Mostly Excellent.
- Occasionally knock-their-socks-off outstanding.
- Sometimes melt-their-brain awesome.
- Take 100% full-on responsibility for
- THE LIFE YOU WANT.
- Sure, some will let you down. And it ain't fair.
- Some, will lie. Incredible, really.
- Some will downright screw with you..
- Never mind (1): it’s cool resilience-building for you;
- never mind (2): karma will sort them out.
- Reinvent your energy:
- walking and taking the stairs is in;
- driving to the corner store is out.
- Risotto is in;
- Meat pie five-nights-in-a-row is out.
- Reinvent your thinking:
- reading loads, absolutely loads for a start;
- holding multiple-often conflicting-idea-in your head at the same time;
- writing regularly.
- Letting go of certainty;
- certainty only comes with uncertainty,
- just as success only comes with failure.
- A recording contract:
- probably means 64 'almost recording' contracts;
- Develop your skills.
- To sew or not to sew?
- Sew, definitely.
- The recession is such an awesome boot-camp.
- It’s sharpening and honing your skills:
- selling,
- marketing,
- personal resilience,
- living per day on what you used to spend at Luigi’s Diner (but love the music, Luigi) for breakfast.
- So Spring 2010, you will be flying.
- Can you be sure? No.
- Can you be excited?
- Oh, yes!
- Can you have a guaranteed plan? No.
- Can you do your utmost? Oh, yes!
- Why
would you give away your most precious of gifts: the ability to enjoy life …
- …why would you allow the jerk in the car in the adjacent lane to take that away from you?
- Sure he’s got 20 seconds lead on you.
- But by the time he gets to San Francisco he’ll be too damn frazzled to put a flower in his hair.
- And he didn’t know you needed to book for Alcatraz. As a visitor, that is.
- Watch young Dylan: he was just doing his stuff. The difference was he had the oomph to do it,
- I believe that one defines oneself by reinventing. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone. Henry Rollins
- Reinvent.
- Today.
- Now.
