But the one who picked me up at the airport and delivered me to the city centre reminds all about the basics: (1) He knows exactly how many trips to cover his costs and make a profit; (2) he knows exactly how to avoid the short runs (it's a tough recession at the moment in Ireland; too many cab drivers sit for hours in a taxi rank only to take someone a few streets; (3) he drove carefully and was courteous.
