M of MEDS represents meditation or taking time out. It is easy to be micro-scheduled from the time the alarm goes off to the time we collapse asleep. It is easy to have continuous data input, with no time to reflect. It is easy to be constantly doing with no time to be. Meditation addresses all of these challenges.
So, how is it done? Two simple suggestions:
The Walking Meditation
Simply take a walk. But make it on your own, no phone, no newspaper. No conversation. No window-shopping. No 'trying to resolve a probelm'. Just walk and be.
You may well find the experience frustrating and you may well feel it is waste of time. If so, it suggests you need to do it more!
The Breathing Meditation
Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit easily and comfortably, close your eyes and focus easily on your breathing.
Do this for 10/15 minutes.
Do it on a regular basis.
Either of the above practices will reduce stress and help your creativity. They are best done on a regular basis not just when you are in a crisis. When you start you may well find a lot of stress is released and you get extra tired or irritable. That's natural and simply continue easily and effortlessly. After a few days you should notice considerable benefits
