Day 4 of 4
And before you get seduced down the mad CV rush, it is worth asking: do you want a job anyway? Or would you rather start your own business? Here are the reasons quoted for ‘getting a job’ and it is worth re-thinking each of them:
• Everybody else? Aahhh, but you are an independent thinker. Don’t necessarily do what everybody else is doing.
• Money. You can earn money running your own business. And sure it’ll probably be harder initially, but maybe you will be enjoying it more and it will be more of an investment for the future.
• Security. The biggest delusion. Nobody, no where can offer you 100% security or anything close to it. You may well have more security ‘being your own person’.
• Ego/status. The loss of the BMW and all the trappings. Well now is probably a really good time to think about what it is that really motivates you. Need some help, try my Get a Life.
• Ladder: correct wall? And this is why I ask the question. It’s easy to climb the ladder: but is it against the correct wall?
Good luck and see you next week for another tutorial.
