She started slowly, warming her body with easy strides, placing the feet lightly, breathing fully and steadily. It was good to be back: running. It may have been a park but it could easily have been savanna, it may have been a road but it could have been a river crossing. Sure: it was the pull up to the university but equally possibly gaining altitude to check the tribe’s navigation. The buildings, the rules, the food and forms of locomotion may have changed but deep down she still had a body that wanted and needed to run. She loved that.
