- Talk to your partner about what 'work/life balance' means and agree some guidelines.
- Switch off more: background TV, Blackberry...
- Create zones of peace: physical e.g. the bedroom and/or time-based e.g. after 1900.
- Stop multi-tasking e.g. checking e-mail and talking about your day.
- Be here now. Otherwise at work you want to be at home and at home you are worrying about work.
- Realise you cannot do everything so prioritising vs. pay-off is crucial.
- Accept that you will never have enough time: make choices.
